Britain’s Wheelchair Fencing squad this week are in Stoke Mandeville for a high level training camp with an international flavour.
France is one of the world’s leading nations in Wheelchair Fencing and Britain’s top wheelchair fencers including Tom Hall-Butcher, Simon Wilson, Adrian Derbyshire and Vivien Mills will have the opportunity to train alongside members of the French squad.
This is the first time that the British Wheelchair Fencers have taken part in such a joint performance camp in the UK, and Performance Manager, Justine Willmott, said “I hope that our fencers will learn a great deal from our competitors across the Channel in this training camp, and that the experience will prove a successful one that can be repeated in the future.”
In total, 13 British wheelchair fencers will be taking part in the camp.
