Richard Kruse reinforced his comeback from injury by finishing 10th at the Venice Grand Prix at the weekend, and in doing so lifted his world ranking to 9th.
After damaging his ankle at the end of last year, Kruse’s ranking fell outside of the top 10, and this weekend’s result was a step in the right direction as he endeavours to improve on his world positioning ahead of the Olympics next year.
Italy dominated the rankings in Venice with four competitors finishing inside the top 10, and Kruse’s GB foil compatriots: Ben Peggs, Laurence Halsted, Marcus Mepstead, Jamie Kember, Rhys Melia, Ed Jefferies, Ahmed Rosowsky, came 39th, 56th, 77th, 83rd, 86th, 97th, and 106th respectively.
The men’s foilists are next in action in Bonn on 18th – 20th March.
