13th April 2012
With exactly 100 days to go to the fencing at the 2012 Games, GB Olympic and Paralympic fencing hopefuls will be demonstrating their fast and skilful sport in Hays Galleria, near London Bridge station, on Thursday 19th April from 6pm.
The competition, featuring all three fencing weapons; epee, foil and sabre, as well as wheelchair fencing, will be hosted by sports presenter Lynsey Hipgrave and British fencer Laurence Halsted, who will explain the action to spectators.
Also present and fencing will be British number 1, Richard Kruse, who qualified by right for the Olympics last month, and became the first British fencer to do so in 12 years.
The showcase event follows on from the hugely successful pop-up fencing demonstration held in Devonshire Square in November last year, and is in support of Beazley's five year sponsorship of British Fencing.
In between fights onlookers will be encouraged to have a go and will be coached by the GB team members present. With prizes and pride to be won, head down to Hays Galleria for a drink after work and find out more about fencing.
